By John Thompson on Thursday, December 05, 2002 - 08:10 pm: Edit

I am going to apply to many collages, but this is the one I am most interested in. I would greatly appreciate peoples thoughts. Here are my stats.
GPA 4.2 W 3.9 UW
Rank 20/500 W and UW
ACT 24 (going to retake, I think I can get a 26)
APs BC Calc and maybe AP Physics
Not many ECs just chess club and bingo with old people.
No URM status.
Will have decent Recs.
Classes: about half honors half regular.
Please let me know what you think. Here is the info on the school.

C'mon dude! You can't expect us to know about Lake Forest College in Illinois. Holy ••••, are we suppose to have stats for every bloody college in the US. I'd say get your ACT up

Sheesh, at least check their web page. Here's what it says:

Average G.P.A. 3.39
Average ACT Composite 25.3
Average Total SAT 1130
G.P.A. Middle 50% 3.03-3.81
ACT Middle 50% 23-28
SAT Middle 50% 1060-1260 Average

In other words, it says, they most probably have a spot with your name on it.

Your ACT score is bogus though. Anybody that can make top 5% at a decent high school should be able to get at least a 28..

Thanks for the info Sheesh. I know what you mean about the ACT score, and im going to take it a one or two more times.

I predict that you do much better by retaking.

Was it low across the board, or did one area drag it down?

If it's really represents your "real" ability, then either you worked your ass off to get your class ranking (and should be rewarded), or you come from an incredibly weak HS (which I doubt).

More likely something went wrong for you on that day. Any chance you got off by one in filling in the bubbles?

I think I did poorly on the ACT becase I wasn't used to the timing yet. I left a few blank in the reading and science reasoning parts. Ive taken a couple practice tests since then, so I think I can pace myself better.
