From a book called the College Finder, which lists top schools in different programs:
Colleges with Excellent Biochemistry Programs
Pennsylvania State U- University Park
University of Miami
University of Ilinois - Urbana
University of Wisconsin - Madison
University of Calif. at San Diego, LA, Berkeley
University of Iowa
Kansas State U
NOTE: I didn't include the Ivy's that were listed
Other possible schools with strong bio and chem departments to look at:

Gettysburg (PA)
Duke U (NC)
Bucknell U (PA)
Hamilton C (NY)
Kenyon (Ohio)

When people say 'lots of ECs', what they're really saying is my ECs suck. Seriously, you don't want lots of ECs, but focus on a few. I know this was random, but people say 'lots of ECs' like its a good thing.
