My SAT Verbal Score is a 640, Math 780. Combined 1420.

Will colleges such as Stanford and Yale scoff at my Verbal score and decide to put me off because of it?

Should I retake in December even if I could maybe boost it 30-60 points?

Your score is okay. What's your unweighted GPA? Stanford and Yale will look at that along with your SAT score.

You should retake it in December if you think you can boost it, especially your verbal score. Good luck to you.

My SAT Verbal Score is 550, Math 800.Combined 1350.I also have big GPA: 4.3 / 5
do u think universities like Boston will like my score.Btw english is not my first language and that's why i just cannot make bigger verbal score.

I had the opposite problem,... low Math, high Verbal. It depends not so much on your GPA as much as your strengths. If your a science/math kind of guy and you get an 800 math, then more power to you. On the other hand, I've heard most of the Ivies described as "communities of writers"... in other words, you'd better compensate for your low verbal with an *snipped*-kicking essay. I think a low verbal score is more of a hurt, however, than math... and a high verbal more impressive. It's all good, though
