I ruined my GPA and class rank because I was sick on finals. I now have like a 4.06w and 3.3uw GPA. I have a 1500 SAT and 750+ SAT ii's. Is there any chance of me getting into UNC Chapel Hill, UVA, or NYU? Or should I just turn in my application to McDonalds?
HELP ME!!!!!!!!

I had two B's and two A's in every clas. SO my junior year GPA dropped from 4.8w to 4.0w and 4.0uw to like 3.1uw.
So do I have a shot?

Adcoms look at your transcript, not only your numerical GPA. So if they see for three years you have been doing great and just messed up at the very end of your junior year they will realize that you are generally a strong applicant.

Thanks a lot for your help you guys.
Could I get into Stern (NYU)?
Also, I can guarantee that I get all A's in all of my AP classes the first marking period (out of four), how much will this improve my transcript, overall?

I think I recently got 4 As, a C in Honors Pre-calc and probably a B or C in AP biology. Do you all think that I am really at risk?

Could you make your own post?
Thanks!

I think you still have a chance with your SAT scores and your ECs.

If you get good grades first quarter/semester, send them an explanation about why you messed up. But still finding a job is hard nowadays, apply to McDonalds too.

I wouldnt worry taht much if i were you. Your test scores are very good and will most likely offset a slip in grades.
Also:
how do you have like a 4.0 weighted and a 3.3 unweighted?
Every single one of my classes throughout highschool has been IB and i have like a 3.8 unweighted and a 3.9 weighted..
i guess school some school systems hate to give out good GPAs

You probably will need the help of your counselor to explain to colleges that it was an unfortunate imcident in an otherwise stellar HS career.
It will be imporant to have great grades in your senior year and show that it was an isolated problem. The B should not be such a problem but you do not want to show a lower grade trend, especially in your junior year.
I still think you will be fine with or without your counselor's input... but it is worth a try.

Thanks a lot you guys.
We get a 5 for an A in AP...hence the GPA
I am still trying to appeal, but my grades are pretty much stuck. Maybe my senior year will offset my junior year.
Is it too late to master a sport?

depends on the sport and how determined you are.
