Hi, my name is Dan from South Florida and I was just wondering about my chances of getting in Yale ED or other schools like Dartmouth or Georgetown RD. My extracurriculars are obviously my strengths, and I would just like to know what kind of SAT score I'll need to still be considered. Here's a list of my basics:
1460 SAT
32 ACT
SAT II's not so good- 700 writing, 680 math, 600 american history
I have taken 5 AP's in my Sophomore and Junior years, passing all of them. I am currently taking another 5 my senior year. Also, I am in the top 4% of my graduating class of 700, which I realize is not too impressive.
As for my extracurriculars, I am
Student Body President (3,300 students in the school)
Founder and President of Model UN
President of Save What's Left Club
Captain of the Envirothon team
Chairman and Founder of the Human Relations Council
SADD Vice President
Founder and President of Model Congress
NHS District Liaison
FLHS Spanish Historian
Mu Alpha Theta
AP Scholar
AP European History Student of the Year
Played 12 years in City League Basketball
As for Volunteering, I coach a city-league basketball team, teach Sunday school, and am the Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation. I also cook food for the homeless at the local Salvation Army on Saturday mornings. I was the librarian for my local church, and also read to children at the local hospital.
I appreciate any input you can give me. Thanks a lot!
