rank: N/A (my school is weird, they dont have classs ranks)
a magnet high school that empahsizes on mathematics and science
PSAT: 158 on index (V: 51 M:60)
SAT: the pseudo one said i would get 1160...

classes that I've already taken:
spanish 1-4
Biology H
Intg. Sci. 1-4
Intro. to Engineering
IMP 1-6
CAD 1
PE
English Acc. 1, 2
Modern World History Acc.
Career Planning
Health

E.C.:
FIRST Robotics Competition (School Robotics team; locomotion subsystem), Character Counts Outside Committee, KEY Club (historian & Carson Library Arts and Crafts Co-Chair), Students Run LA runner, community volunteer, and Class Vice President/Secretary, Shorinji Kempo Martial Arts (3rd degree brown belt)

awards:
Math Modeling Contest, Meritorious Mention
Key Clubber of the year 01-02, 02-03
Key Clubber Prodige Award

Where are my chances of getting in? Please help me, and thanks.

You could try in WPI or in some state university. Not in a ranked college your sat score is quite low .You need to get atleast 1250.The ecs are fine

Remember, the UC schools will only use your gpa from 10 and 11th grade. You might want to refigure it using the guidelines at www.ucop.edu before betting you're a shoe-in at UCSB - a lot of people were surprised this year when they didn't get into UCSB.

You have a decent shot at BU and NYU. Cooper will be out of reach for you unless you have something very unique to sell to them.

"You have a decent shot at BU and NYU"

Are you joking? I would say currently a 0 % chance at nyu and very low at BU

You'll need to be getting a heavy dose of Honors & AP classes in your schedule to be competitive with most of those schools.

Dream5 is being snotty and overstating things. But right now you're a better fit for Rutgers or Rochester than most of those schools...I don't know anything about Olin.

My school already has a set curriculum, and I cant chose the classes I want. For example, I would've been done with Pre Calc by now if I followed through with what I was planning to do, but due to my high school's criteria, I had to take this math program called IMP, and they start offering most honors and AP classes junior year... My high school is super weird. For some reason, UCs like our school, and people with less than 3.5 gpa made it into UCLA. Trippy, but true. But anyway, can anyone give me a reality check, if I could get into carnegie mellon..? maybe??? (ahh, please dont be too mean! >__<)

It occurred to me that you school might be one of the "weird ones," in which case all negative bets are off. May I ask which magnet school?

I still think you need to get those SAT scores up, regardless, but many students make a big leap between sophomore and junior years.

haha, thats why Olin is one of my "dream" schools. :P but anyway, what school offers a good engineering program, thats not so hard to get into? Does anyone know...?
