I have a 3.1 gpa unweighted, and unfortunately i haven't taken any APs in my junior year (this year)... I was really sick and constantly out of school in 9th and 10th grades, and that's why my gpa is so low. I'm scheduled for AP chemistry, AP calculus, AP art, AP Literature, and AP Psychology for senior year. I got a 1430 SAT 690 Verbal, 710 Math. I have a lot of clubs and extra curriculars, my teachers all basically like me, and my father's an NYU alumni ( i know that doesn't help much, but it's something) NYU's my dream school, and I was just wondering if I have any chance at all of getting in, early decision or otherwise... and if not, which i'm suspecting is the case, where can i get in? By the way, I was thinking of pre-dental...
Thanks for reading my posting... i know my stats don't exactly measure up with those of most of the other people that post here, but i just needed an honest opinion.

how'd you get a 1430? 690+710....= 1400
Anyways, the fact that your father is an alumni will help you. Your GPA will not, but maybe they'll offset each other. Do early decision, if that's your first choice. Also, look at some of the second-tier schools...(Boston U). Good Luck!
