I think that it helps tremendously that you have legacy at the college and are in-state, but...
DO NOT put Who's Who on your resume. It is a scam and if the admissions people see it on you list of honors it could hurt you.
Also, you need to try very hard get to get those SAT's up. I know that everyone doesn't do well on these things (don't be disillusioned by other posters!) but you should atleast get above a 1200 to be in the running with everyone else. However, I think that taking the ACT and doing well on it will balance out your SAT score.
Playing the flute might do well for you as well, especially if you might be interested in joining the new band that UVA is starting up to replace the pep band. I keep reading in the paper about them trying to gather up musicians, so this could be something to give you an extra boost!
You haven't given a lot of background info with your activities, but I know many people from my high school got in with worse grades and rank and little activities. You have a decent chance, but you need I think you need something on that application to stand out more. I don't remember the exact application requirements, but if you have to write an essay or get recommendations these could be the areas where your application is strengthened.
Anyways, admissions is tricky and you never know how it will play out. work on a few areas and you should have as decent a chance as anyone else. Good luck!

Well...your GPA is impressive, your rank not so much so. Being a VA resident and having a legacy status will help you significantly but I'm not sure if that's going to be enough to push you over. An 1100 on the SAT's after three tries is pretty low and it would surprise me if UVA accepted you. Also, by the way, the "Who's Who" award is a scam. Almost EVERYBODY will receive such a nomination in the mail. This so-called "award" means nothing and it's only designed to cheat people out of money in return for a phony distinction. Do you have any other EC's? Simply being a flutist and a member of the SHS...there has to be more than that. At this point, I sincerely doubt you'll be able to get in, but if you can get some rocking recs and an essay, MAYBE (assuming you have a FEW more EC's).

you are out of state foor george washington so you are going to want to fall within the median range of their sat scores.. roughly about a 1250ish... take the act or something

mattymatt...gwu is private...state residency has no effect on admissions like publics do...
