I planned on taking AP Calculus in my senior year, but I have a scheduling conflict. Either I take AP calculus and have to take a second senior history (which although an honors class, would still most likely be a complete joke and waste of time), or take AP stat and still have room for AP Spanish or AP Psychology. Is it absolutely necessary that I take calculus? Or is AP Stat good enough?

Your situation depends on what you plan on majoring in colleges. Do you have any prospective majors that you are considering? (I would say if you're thinking about science, medicine, or engineering take AP calc (in my opinion cuz thats what I'm doing)

I think I'm probably going to major in history, but I'm really not positive because I also have a strong interest in chemistry. . .LOL

no matter what you major in, you're most likely going to have to satisfy a Calculus requirement. I would personally take calculus b/c Stats shouldn't be hard whether you take it as an AP or in college. Personally, I took AP Calc and AP Stats my senior year and it worked out great. If your schedule allows, I would recommend taking both. It really wasn't hard at all.

As I said in an earlier post:

AP Stats is VERY easy... and even more boring.

Take AP Calc, no contest.
