Hi
I just wanted to know how much leadership is really enough. I am a sophomore right now. Right now I am an interorganizational chairperson for NHS, member chair for UNICEF, and a co-president of an IB student organization at my school. I also volunteer at a hospital. Next year I will not be continuing with the IB program, and therefore I will not be able to be President of the IB student organization. So far, these are my only ECs. I was wondering what else I could do in the direction of ECs to improve my chances of being accepted to Pomona or Columbia.

Try something in the way of a club or a sport. I know that not everyone is the athletic type, but no-cut sports can be a lot of fun, and show that you are more than just an academic. If that is not your bag then I say you should try to join a Mock Trial team or debate if your school doesnt offer MT. Its a great experience and looks good on apps

You can't get "enough" leadership experience just like you can't get "enough" academic credentials. Basically, you can't show leadership without actually doing it, and leadership doesn't come out in activities you don't truly enjoy. Pick whatever is the most fun of these, and try to make it more than whatever it is now at your school. Take chances, devote a lot of your time to it, and do more than just keep it running. Have fun doing it, and the colleges will see the committment, and they'll give you credit for that.
