How do you get to go to Girls State? Is it competitive? I never really heard of it.
| By Atpchik (Atpchik) on Monday, June 02, 2003 - 06:21 pm: Edit |
People at my school apply and 2 are sponsored so we don't pay anything. It is pretty competetive about 40 girls applied. Its basically a gov. simulation program similar to boys state. It has a website if you want more info.

Atpchik, I would recommend UPenn for you from what I read about you. Your stats are amazing, even if the SATs are just a little low. Upenn has amazing biomedical program especially if you would want to go for an joint-accelerated degree with Wharton (top business school). Just a suggestion.

Hi,
Thank you all for replying!
NYU2010:
Each state has its own Girls State Website, this is South Dakotas:http://www.usd.edu/girlstate/mainpage.htm,this is Michigan's: http://www.michalaux.org/girlsstate.htm etc.
VanilaTwist: Thanks for the input and your encouragement, i thought all hope at UPenn was gone for me after my score but good thing I'm retaking. I am certainly planning on applying there, I checked their websight.
Hollartme:
APCompSci is a class that can vary in difficulty based on your teacher. Just a suggestion, you should take an AP b/c you are interested in the subject matter, not cuz its easy. I think Easy AP is sometimes an oxymoron!! And plus, things you like come easier
