Hi, I am a first generation Indian and am finishing the first year of the IB program. I want to do Pre- Med in college. I would like to know my chances at the following schools: Johns Hopkins, UVA, UCLA,Boston University, Northwestern University, Georgetown University
Here are some of my stats:

Top 5% of my class (20 of 514) ...my school is one of the best public in US.
Virginia Resident, SAT I: 1330, SAT II: not taken yet

freshman year: 4.0; Band, PIB geometry, PIB english 9, PIB bio, PIB spanish 2, PIB world history, PE (required)

sophmore : 3.65 with AP Gov't weight (bad year) ; PIB chem, PIB physics, PIB english 10, PIB/ AP comparative and US gov't, PIB algerbra 2/ Trig, PIB spanish 3, PE (required)

Junior: ( I am taking double sciences and a weight load) gpa: with weight will have around 4.65. IB Chemistry I, IB Biology I, IB Spanish IV, IB Math Methods I, IB English I, IB Anthropology, IB History I.

Work load next will similar to junior except no anthro, which has to be replaced by Theory of Knowledge and all courses will be second year ones.
overall gpa will be around 4.0 with AP class in 10th and all the IB classes 11th grade.

Extra: 2004 Class Treasurer, Track and Field, Key Club, Vice President of Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Society, accepted to Governor School residential program, Did Harvard/MIT summer program, Field Hockey, President of Environment Friends Club, did 150 hours of community service including teen volunteer at hospital, Regional Stockholm Science Water Project winner, National Dental Science Award for Science Project. Thanks a lot for any help you can give.

Accepted at BU, nowhere else.

Srry to be mean. Check out NYU, Tufts, Trinity College, Franklin & Marshall, and Bucknell. Very good schools which you will have a better shot at.

You're a Virginia resident, You're guaranteed into UVA. End of story. I was accepted with far less impressive stats and I'm white (not that that should matter but frankly it is a disadvantage). Just be sure to have interesting well-thought-out essays, I'm almost positive that it was my writing and IB that got me in. SAT scores are bull, GPA is far more important to colleges as is proof that you have unique talents and passionate interest in the extra curricular activities you chose. So as long as you don't BS your application trying to tell them what you think they want to hear you should be fine.
