Im a freshman going into sophmore year and i was selected for AP euro. (only given to top 10% of class)i was wandering how hard the course really is and if you happen to hate history, is it worth taking? the course also requires you to take after school classes to catch up. this would make me sacrifice some EC's!!! i could take honors global history instead and then have time for EC's. the only other AP im taking this year is English Language. if anyone has taken the course, please give me a good description and some advice even though i hate hate hate hate history!!!1 lol thank u

I took the class and got a 4 on the test. It's pretty rigorous cause it requires that you know 800 years of history in and out. You have to be a good writer and really know your stuff. I guess it depends on the teacher but in my class we read a chapter a week (each chapter consisting of about 70 pages, that would have been easy but with that we had to write an EXTENSIVE essay with each chapter and we literally had a test at least 3/5 days of every week (and you had to know EVERYTHNG because you never knew what was going to be on her test) Most of my studying was dedicated to her class but you know what i think it was worth it. I became a good writer because of that class, now i dont have to worry about taking it in college and plus it looked good on my college application.

Oh it helped with the SATs a lot because she made us use a lot of bid words in our essays because she said the graders like that so the vocab section was easy and so was the writing for the SAT IIs

Come to my schooL! I had to go to class ~ 30% of the time, only showed up for quizzes and tests, got an A+ in the course, and a 5 on the exam last year. My school treats APs like college.

AP Euro is a semester-long course at my school... sucked because we had to read around 20 dense pages per night out of History of the Modern World, which is the biggest textbook I've ever worked with :P
The test though was fairly easy this year. My score hasn't come yet (will come in July), but I'm predicting a 5. A warning though: you WILL develop carpal tunnel syndrome after the essay portion of the test.
