This will seem as if it belongs under the SAT/PSAT heading, but I thought there might be a parent who could answer this who'd been through this issue before...
I read today on the "when do we find out about NM semifinalist" thread that in Georgia, the cutoff has risen from 214 to 217. I was really surprised, as my S's g.c. had said that the cutoffs usually were within a point or two of the year before.
THE QUESTION: Just because the cutoff rises 3 pts in one state, will it rise that much in every state? Anyone know? Thanks.

The cutoff score is specific to each state. It is defined by the top 1/2% (I think, it might be top 1%) of PSAT scores in each state. So the cutoff score can change in one state but not in another.
