Is any parent concerned about the loss of privacy/information when they post in groups like the present one? That colleges may be reading and making adverse decisions based on what they read here.
I was. However, that didn't stop me from posting here and in other boards - the need to vent was strong.
Our on-campus interview at Chicago went awful. The interviewer had zero people skills and didn't even make eye-contact with my son. He felt terrible. He thought that his chances were zero. (He got in EA.) When I posted about this (not here), I didn't mention the university and also changed my 'son' to a 'daughter'. He thought that I had flipped for sure now.
I don't think that my postings had any negative effect.

Amd, Chicago doesn't care about what impression they are making on you! They don't have to sell the university to anyone. Our visit to the admitted student day proved that to me. I could make a list of things they did wrong on that day. Why would any college refuse to admit you on the basis of a posting on a public board, if your true identity is hidden? Do college admission officers read these boards?? The stories will be very anecdotal and wouldn't mean much, unless you took pains to be quite specific in your descriptions. amy 2440
