I value the parents' opinions more than the students and I wanted to ask a question regarding my grade being changed after my transcript was sent out to Yale, UPenn, RIT and Syracuse. I live in NY and I took the disputed physics exam. They rescored the exam and I will receive a higher grade (87 to 92) that will bring my AP Physics B final avg from a B+ to an A- and it will also move me 1 class rank higher. I was wondering if it would be right for me to call or e-mail my admissions officer of the change as it is not a big difference, but it will give me no B's in my junior year.

Thanks in advance.

I suggest that you have your GC send an updated transcript reflecting the grade change, and that your GC also add a note pointing out the change.

It is important that the college have a correct transcript when they evaluate you.

I would ask, no, insist, that your GC send an updated transcript. I would also write a letter explaining the situation, because the change may not otherwise be obvious.

Thank you for your advice. I am going to talk to my GC tomorrow and give him a note explaining the situation for him to include with the updated transcript.

An update: I was able to talk to my GC, who has been very helpful during the process, before school started and he printed out 4 new transcripts, highlighted the change, wrote his own note, had the principal sign them and sent them out with the 8 am mail. He said that he was going to find out who took the physics exam and mail updated transcripts by the end of the week.

Nhkane:

Thanks for the update. It's great that your grade was changed. Psychologically, I think there is a real difference between an A- and a B+, so it's great your GC was able to point out the grade change. And it's a heartwarming story to counteract the GC bad luck story that Metz has had.
