hi everyone. well i was just wondering what score i would need to get to get the nat'l honor finalist/semifinalist stuff, and would this greatly help my admission to ivy colleges? i know i won't do as good this year (1600-1800) but if i take the psat again senior year, do i have another shot of getting the certificate? please answer and thanks!

you can't take the PSAT senior year. Only junior year counts for National Merit stuff

megan's right. sorry.
but you might want to know that schools won't mind that you're not a semi-finalist or anything. just study and do well on your SAT I. that'll matter a LOT more than the PSAT.

You take the PSAT's junior year and the award process goes on through your senior year. There's a certain cutoff each state for the semifinalist score, varying from a simple 201 to a brutal 221 or something.
So yeah, you better do well this year.
