I was wondering...
Does the AP bio test and the Bio SAT II cover the same material? What about the AP Chem and Chem SAT II? I was wondering because I wondered if I should just buy one prep book for each subject or buy separate ones for AP and SAT IIs.

anyone?

The AP Bio is much more indepth than the SATII, and requires a greater attention o detail and specific facts, whereas the SATII Bio is more general knowledge of Biology, I'd Say if you bought a review bok for the AP Bio ts you should do fine on the SATII, same goes for CHEM AP and Chem SATII. Good Luck!

btw, i wont be taking ap bio till senior year (gonna be a junior), but I am planning to take the SAT IIs coming up in september to practice for them. In order to prepare, should I buy an AP Bio book or an SAT II: Bio book?

I had an AP Bio (REA) book nearby, and this is what it says about the test: "Molecules and Cells - 25%, Genetics and Evolution - 25%, Organisms and Populations - 50%."

Thanks for answering my first question nymom. Can someone please answer my secone one?

To prepare for the SAT II, you should get an SAT II prep book; to prepare for the AP exam, you should get an AP exam prep book. Although both exams test biology, they focus on slightly different things. In addition, you would need to adopt (I think) different test tactics for both exams, so it would be better to get a book for each exam. By the way, you do not actually need to buy it; most public libraries have many test prep books. Good luck.

i got a 5 on my ap bio exam, then a 720 on my sat2. what will they think of me?

distressed.

Monica, your scores are fine. Colleges will value both of them.

Monica did u take E or M

By monica on Sunday, September 15, 2002 - 05:26 pm: Edit

i took ... M i think. but i looked over the E afterwards and it was pretty easy.

i didn't study for the bio sat2, just took it on a whim because they told me i could take 3 tests free of charge.

my scores are all over the place. i had a 1600 sat, a 3 in AP calc and a 5 in AP UHS.

then a 740 math2c, and a <snip - admin> 690 sat2 ush.

and i'm pretty sure stanford will laugh at me :(

How did you get a perfect SAT score?

By monica on Monday, September 16, 2002 - 12:02 am: Edit

oh sorry, i didn't realize that was snippable :(

shikago: i took a few practice tests during the summer, and didn't stress out about the exam one bit. having spent most of my childhood buried in a book was massively helpful. reading is the only thing that will get you a 800 verbal. shrug. these are my opinions at least.
