Does anyone know what colleges put more weight on between the two tests? In particular, the more selective schools (not necessarily Ivies). For example, which looks better- a 1510 on the SAT or a 34 on the ACT?

I'd rather have a 36 than a 1600.

Colleges as a whole accept either and neither is considered better than the other with some exceptions. One is Duke where if you submit the SAT you must also submit SAT II's while if you submit the ACT, Sat II's are not needed. There are some other schools like that. On the opposite side, Wake Forest and a few other schools will not even accept the ACT.
