I really want to burn all my barrons and kaplan and whatever books, or throw them in the hudson river and watch the acid eat away at them...

Is anyone else heading into senior year done with all SATs and SAT IIs?

By Chrisbo (Chrisbo) on Monday, July 19, 2004 - 11:59 pm: Edit

Can I get them from you?

By Zantedeschia (Zantedeschia) on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 - 12:12 am: Edit

Come and get it. I'm not going to ohio.

Sell them on Half.com or something. Youre bound to get some cash, at least.

Yeah, I'm done with SATs and SAT IIs, although it never occured to me to have a bonfire...I've got enough of the darn things though. Can't sell mine since I did most of the tests.

I'm totally serious about the bonfire except my mom doesn't want me to burn the house down. It's ok, she doesn't have to know...unless i actually do burn the house down...hmmm

Zantedeschia: If you don't want 'em, can I please get 'em? I live in NYC...only gonna be a junior.

By Feuler (Feuler) on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 - 12:02 pm: Edit

I have thought about doing a mass burning of my prep books and stuff... I would pass them down to younger kids at my school, or sell them, or something, but I tend to write all over them. Maybe I can find someone that doesn't mind, though.

Zantedeschia: consider donating them to Let's Get Ready. It's an organization which helps underprivileged kids who can't afford tutors and prep classes prepare for the SAT's and AP's. They have lots of collection centers in NYC.

see www.letsgetready.org

Or just give/sell 'em to someone. You've had numerous requests already. I personally think it's a huge waste just to burn the books.

(I volunteer for Lets Get Ready, in case you can't tell)

I give mine away to next years class when I get done with them, why waste the books?

By Zantedeschia (Zantedeschia) on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 - 08:24 pm: Edit

Do people actually want books that I've used and written all over though?

Plus, what good will SAT I books do for the people who will take the new SAT?

By Scorp (Scorp) on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 - 08:36 pm: Edit

Well if they don't want them they can always throw them away themselves. Or they can buy a different book and use the review in your book and in that book for a more in depth review. I always get people's old books. Especially the REA books, because the History review is pretty good. Adn the tests I can always erase, (If I actually decide to do them...)

And if I do my tests in pen?
Sorry if I'm being difficult, but I will probably donate them. Thanks for the info.

hey I have real SAT's that Xiggi recommended. Does any one want them?

By Appliedmath (Appliedmath) on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 01:31 pm: Edit

does it have writing in it?

By Nobel (Nobel) on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 10:14 pm: Edit

light writing with pencil...it can be easily erased. I think I have 4-6 tests unused.

By Ecnerwalc (Ecnerwalc) on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 06:40 pm: Edit

Anybody else have prep books to sell for cheap?

By Scorp (Scorp) on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 05:01 pm: Edit

Ask the older students from your HS. Don't be shy; most will give them away for free. BUT MAKE SURE THAT THE BOOKS YOU GET ARE STILL VALID FOR YOUR TEST!! (IE AP Computer science books from a few years ago won't do since AP CS in now in Java, SAT I books from a few years ago won't do if you need the new SAT etc...)
