Ok you guys. Let me tell you I'm pissed. I know you guys must be thinkin like 'why the hell is she posting all this crap?' well here's the thing. i've been studying my arse off for this stupid SAT test. i've taken numerous practice SAT exams yet I see NO improvement whatsoever; in fact, in some cases, my score has gone DOWN. my problem is mainly math. i dont get it! AHH! and for verbal...those stupid CR passages. I swear im gonna die. so my question for the people on this board who got a 1500 or above: how did you do it? i know this may seem like a generic question but the SAT is two weeks away and im freaked.. please answer

Virgo007 :
First off, if you're too freaked out to take it in two weeks, then why not take it in June instead?
As for your practice tests: taking practice tests is only an effective method of prep if you do it the right way (IMO), and doing it the right way would entail learning how to pace yourself for the real thing, looking over your mistakes at the end of each test, figure out WHY you made those mistakes, and trying not to make them again in the future. For example, did you answer the wrong question (did you say how many coins were in box A even though the qustion asked for how many were in both boxes A and B combined)? What kind of prep did you do? Did you memorize vocab? Did you check out any review book(s)? If so, then which one(s)? Are you taking real practice exams? For how long have you been prepping? What scores are you getting? What's your goal?...et cetera...these questions are relevent. Give us an idea as to where you are in terms of prep and scores, and perhaps some people can help. For example, you could be doing something wrong in terms of prep (like using Gruber's for CR tips, lol)...

I know what you mean. When I did my practice tests for SAT I, I got anywhere between 640-740 for verbal. What's funny is that my 740 was one of the first practice tests I took and my last one was my worst one. I ended up getting 790 on the real SAT I (verbal). Go figure.
