I just got that book from the library in hopes of increasing my verbal score from 590 to about 700. I went through the first test (in SAT test conditions), and got approximately 650, and according to the chart, I'm in the "very good" range. Does it mean I would score higher on a real test, and how much is the book going to help me?

most likely. barron's test prep is supposed much more difficult than the actual test.

Take a test out of 10 Real SATs - that will be a better predictor.
