i've always been good at math...and i get consistent 800's on SAT:math but i'm in Ap cal right now as sophomore...so I feel i should prolly get the SAT2:IIC out of the way...but,
i looked at some practice problems on Collegeboard site (which are generally the hardest ones) and they were all material that I forget...!!!! I mean i somewhat remember howing to compound interest continuously or monthly..but i forget the formulas, i'm not yet in physics, and i forget vectors from geometry...The IIC seems kinda hard from what i got from the Practice problems (especially the annoying geometry)...
Does anybody have advice as to what i should do? Should I buy a book or just study for about an hour(i bet all this will come back real fast)....
Basically, anybody who has scored 700+, can you tell me what your story is like and what gave u success on the SAT II: Math iic---ALSO
CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO DO SEQUENCES ON THE TI-89??Thanks... all sort, geometric, algebraic, and arithmetic.

I got a 800 SAT II (only 760 on SAT I math, but that was abnormal for me). The curve is pretty huge so you can miss a fair amount of problems and still get a 800. About 9% of the takers get 800. I would just buy a practice book and memorize all of the formulas you need to know and do some practice problems and get into practice using a calculator again. I don't know about you, but I havn't been allowed to use a calculator on any of my Calc. tests this year.

The test is basically PreCalclus, Algebra, and Misc (statistics, combinations, sequeces, etc). And I have no idea what vectors are (never learned it). So pickup a

you start using Calculators in calculus when you get to the volume and 3d --but even then some teachers make it bitchy.

Hiya,
Did you cram the Identities? Nocalguy, how did you prep for the IIc. What other subjects did you take?

I can tell you the math 2C was hard, but not THAT hard. I got the Barrons book. When I took the first test, I got somewhere around 650. After looking over each problem I got wrong, and taking every test in the book, I got an 800 on the real thing. So I recommend the Barrons book, because it has like 8 practice tests in it.

I got the Kaplan book only because I heard tht the bArron's didnt simulate the actual test and there were tons of errors.
I'm sure the Kaplan will do just fine.

I had the Barron's book as well. I did a few 2-3 practice tests and mostly read about what you needed to know. Since I was talking Precalc. at the time, most the stuff in Math 2C I had just learned at school which was a plus for me. I also took Writing and Chemistry SAT II's.
