are there any advantages to taking a sat2 more than once?

Well, you can improve your score. If your score is good enough, there's no need to take it again. It'll just look like you have nothing better to do than study for tests. Even if thats true, you don't want to give them that impression.
Take Writing, Math IIC, and one of your choice. If you are taking the new SAT, you don't have to take Writing. If you are horrible at math, take Math IC. Repeat until desired scores are reached, but do not exceed 3 tries on each in 4 years. If you experience any problems or these problems persist, consult a physician.

only one retake but for multiple subjects.

well even if you do do worse, they take the higher one so it doesnt really matter right?
