I got a 4 on AP Chem. In my sophomore year. Well... Calc B/C came off as easy for me... and for biology, dont try to memorize everything. Get the major concepts down and you'll do fine.

I got a 4 in Bio. I live in Missouri but I found out through the school I'm attending. They have an online system that records high school transcripts, standardized test scores and etc.. Looks like ETS sent the scores to my school earlier to me.... Got 3 credits off Bio 201 and Bio 202. Not a bad deal to get six credits hours for a score of 4.

I messed up on calc really bad, esp free response. Will it hurt me with getting into the top colleges as an engineering major? Or should I not even report it? Also, does the 3 on the Calc AB portion qualify me as an AP Scholar?

My teacher's review sessions were the most helpful thing for me. I didn't use any review books, though. Mock tests in class are really helpful.

Cutie911: I bought PR and first read an era out of that then followed up the same time period out of REA. PR provides a brief overview, and REA gives you all the details.

I didn't use a textbook, just those 2 books and I frequented an AP US History forum.

Accel: Congrats! Calc AB is really easy, as is Micro econ. I took chem and Language this year and haven't gotten the grade back, so I can't really give you a good analysis. However, I thought language wasn't really that bad (but one never knows how they are going to grade your essays). For chem, our school only offers honors chem, so I wasn't really prepared for it (only like four people from our school took it). We'll see. Good luck next yr!

This is kind of random but funny. A kid at my school got a "D" for both semesters of AP Calculus but then got a 5 on the exam. The teacher is really good but she weights homework as 40% of the grade by counting homework grades as both homework and quiz grades (no quizzes in the class), and he didn't do hardly any of the homework. Anyway, do you think he should appeal the grade to the school board?

No, you go to school knowing full well that you're going to have to do work, including homework. If you choose to think you're above such "menial" things, you shouldn't have an A, no matter how great College Board thinks you are. If the student is so talented that he need not do homework, why not stop wasting the teacher's time and have him do a self-study?

European History: 4 (people who claim this one is easy need to be dealt with... worked like hell to get that grade. Loved the class, but was expecting to do much worse.)

Nope. He deserves what he got. The D says something about his work ethic which is something that colleges really care about.

Why do some people act like getting a 4 on an AP exam is the worst thing that they've ever done? Normally I, too, would be disappointed with "second best", but I thought the US History AP was the most difficult test I've ever taken, so I was relieved to get a 4 on it.
