I'm going to be taking the SAT II writing and us history in october and I was wondering what sort of scores i should be aiming for. I am looking at NYU, George Washington, Penn State... but my reach and dream school is NYU. I got a 1340 on my SATs and I am in the top 10 percent of my class. I have a pretty good list of ECs. I'm just wondering if I should be aiming for 600, 650, 700, or higher. If anyone has any idea let me know.. thanks a lot!

i think a 700 will be great, but anything in the 650-700 range will also do....those are just guesses on my part (from knowledge of ppl that got in and their scores)....hope that helps

Schools like the ones you're looking at typically want scores 50-100 points higher than the mean. So for writing you might aim for 650-750, and world history 630-700.
