just to clarify, which one do universities care about more?

I have heard that SAT IIs are more indicative of how you will do in college.

I think it depends upon the college. At UC's, I believe, SAT II's are more important but I'm not sure about east coast schools. If colleges don't require SAT II's, then they probably don't even glance at them.

I hope so! What about if SAT II scores are "recommended?"

SAT II's are used for placement more than they are for admission. If you take more than 2 SAT II's, some colleges will only look at your three highest scores anyways. Most schools will only require writing, so I have a feeling that they care about the writing score the most out of the SAT II's.
Plus, most schools care way more about your transcript and your essay than any standardized test scores.
