I just took the SAT I and got 680M and 620V. 1300 is usually considered a pretty solid score, but do you think it looks any better to schools that I took it in 9th grade? I'm planning on taking the new SAT also.

Also, how have you improved on the SAT from previous years?

A 1300 is great for a 9th grader. Just practice from a PR or Kaplan book, and you should be set to score 1400+ in the next few years.

you have to take the New SAT so they probably wont consider ur old scores

I know that I am taking the new SAT but a 1300 on the old SAT in 9th grade can't hurt...right?

It's a good score for 9th grade but do not keep on taking the SAT. All your scores will show up on the report. Get the 10RealSATs from the College Board or from a local bookstore and practice. You should improve quite a bit when next you take the SAT, in junior year.

I took the SAT in 9th grade: 1330, 690 V, 640 M.
There are many students who take the SAT in the 9th grade so it really cannot hurt (as long as you don't take it more than 3 times). However, few take the SAT in 10th, just to let you know.

We were told you can expect an increase of 100 pts per year. Don't know if that's true. Anyway, I expect colleges will only look at the score from the new test, in order to be consistent between all applicants.

I personally took the test in 9th grade (this year). However, unless you are like 110% sure of scoring crazy high I wouldnt waste the money, timee ,or the space on my Reports from ETS. I got a 1590.

Thanks.....it was basically pure luck. I had a very easy verbal section.

I have taken the SAT twice in freshmen year, once a 1260, and once a 1290. This is because a public boarding school that I want to attend in my junior and senior year requires SAT scores. Will this look bad that I took SAT so many times. I have to take the new one anyway right? I am talking like 5 or 6 time!!!

I took the SAT at the end of my freshman year, and I got a 1500.
