Bio M. 800!!!! I'm so happy!!!!

By Curtisny (Curtisny) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 03:48 pm: Edit

great job!!!!!
what percentile was an 800?

By Viraj1303 (Viraj1303) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 03:50 pm: Edit

It was 98!

By Irock1ce (Irock1ce) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 03:50 pm: Edit

i got 790 = (

By Best_Wr (Best_Wr) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 03:51 pm: Edit

770 E. 97th percentile. Happy.

By Hertish (Hertish) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 03:52 pm: Edit

Bio M 760

By Clipperdude21 (Clipperdude21) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 04:07 pm: Edit

why doesnt mine say the percentile

By Clipperdude21 (Clipperdude21) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 04:16 pm: Edit

what was a 760 M's %?

By Altf4 (Altf4) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 04:17 pm: Edit

BIO M 790 ----97TH PERCENTILE!!!

By Chatterjoy87 (Chatterjoy87) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 04:33 pm: Edit

I definitely should've taken E.

So would the fact that our bio is split so that we only take half of the material standardized tests have by the time tests come around change anything? Or would they just look at my score and laugh...probably the latter.

Taking Bio SAT II is definitely bad, right?

By Altf4 (Altf4) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 04:36 pm: Edit

WAS THIS CURVE INSANELY PHENOMENAL OR WHAT? i'm so sure i missed like 15 problems!!!

By Sandmanpb (Sandmanpb) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 04:41 pm: Edit

I know! The curve was great! I somehow got an 800!

By the way, an 800 in Ecology was 99th percentile. They do score Ecology easier than Molecular, which is the only reason i took it.

By Phantom (Phantom) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 04:43 pm: Edit

The curve was incredible.

By Unluckycharms (Unluckycharms) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 04:57 pm: Edit

Molecular Biology - 800 98th percentile

By Adidasty (Adidasty) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 05:01 pm: Edit

i got an 800 for Molecular Biology!!!! Im so happy!!!!

P.S. How do you find percentages?

By Altf4 (Altf4) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 05:02 pm: Edit

it's on the score report online!

wow seriously, i'm so happy about the 790-97th percentile.

By Sandmanpb (Sandmanpb) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 05:14 pm: Edit

Quick question- why did most of you take Molecular? I've always thought that the E questions were easier, even though in my bio class we focused on Molecular.

By Maud (Maud) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 05:17 pm: Edit

I actually find Molecular stuff easier to remember (like DNA replication, mitosis etc) because I don't always remember the difference between all the biomes or the nitrogen cycles, etc and I always get terms mixed up in evolution and ecology

i dont know thats just me..plus is it true that it looks better to take M if you're thinking about going pre-med or in the molecular bio field? or is that just a myth?

By Viraj1303 (Viraj1303) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 06:27 pm: Edit

E=reading long paragraphs about relationships in strange species. More on-the-spot questions, such as reading graphs, analyzing experiments and such.

M=Hardcore facts, and maybe an easy experiment analysis snuck in.

By Escaria (Escaria) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 07:31 pm: Edit

Bio M - 800!! 98%

By Hellyea80 (Hellyea80) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 08:11 pm: Edit

which test prep books helped you guys the most? Im planning to take the test in october and its my first SAT II

By Aim78 (Aim78) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 08:14 pm: Edit

Curve was great? Damn, should have taken it in June. I got a 760 on the May one which I'm very happy with.

By Escaria (Escaria) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 08:52 pm: Edit

good curve? hmm dunno about that..

i was kinda expecting a 800 on this.. i had just finished my 1b bio and i studied a lot.
i know that i only missed 1 q for sure..

hmm prep books? i used barrons and kaplan.. however on the test, not everything is in there..
i mean the biome question (3-4?) i learned from my geography class :P
it's better to take the test after you've finished ap bio/ib bio/honors etc.

By Mercury31 (Mercury31) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 09:13 pm: Edit

my friend ommited 11 wrong on the test and she won't check her score because shes worried she got a 500. what do you think the highest she can get is?

By Rsi03er (Rsi03er) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 09:16 pm: Edit

Bio-M 770... 93rd percentile=(

By Taylor6465 (Taylor6465) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 10:11 pm: Edit

Well all you people that are sad about a 770 can shove it. I got a 690 on the ecological and I'm proud!!

By Wonderchic (Wonderchic) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 10:27 pm: Edit

What did you guys use to study for it? What would you recommend?

By Altf4 (Altf4) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 10:28 pm: Edit

i studied from almost every book that was ever published so i could get my 790

By Aceofhearts54 (Aceofhearts54) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 10:30 pm: Edit

750 on E, I'm so happy. Was the curve awesome or what? :) Nice job guys!

By Bennelz (Bennelz) on Friday, June 18, 2004 - 01:23 am: Edit

650 ON BIO-M
UCCHH MAKES ME WANNA THROW UP
TO RETAKE, OR NOT TO RETAKE THAT IS THE QUESTION!

By Happeepanda (Happeepanda) on Friday, June 18, 2004 - 02:34 am: Edit

620 BioM...CRAP!

Yes, retake or not?????

By Happeepanda (Happeepanda) on Friday, June 18, 2004 - 02:37 am: Edit

BTW I don't think any of the SAT's are graded on a curve...It says so in the 10 real SAT's book, but that might just be for SAT I's...

By Sandmanpb (Sandmanpb) on Friday, June 18, 2004 - 08:48 am: Edit

Yeah, i just used a combination of Princeton, Kaplan, an old Arco book, and my AP Cliff Notes book

By Best_Wr (Best_Wr) on Friday, June 18, 2004 - 11:01 am: Edit

Bio Curve is as it says in Real SAT II; you can get five wrong and still get 800. I got about 6~8 wrong and got a 770. So no, the curve wasn't generous or anything. It was as it was supposed to be.
And I don't find it true that Bio M is better than E when applying to pre-med (there's no such thing as "pre-med" by the way). It are only 20 questions that are different, and if one's gotten 5 in AP Bio, that shouldn't make any difference. IT's all about scores and percentiles, though I'm not sure which.

By Adidasty (Adidasty) on Friday, June 18, 2004 - 11:45 am: Edit

See, I got an 800 on Molecular Biology, but I want to see if I missed any. On the discussion I didn't miss any so I am still wondering. Do they show you how many you missed on the real score report?

By Altf4 (Altf4) on Friday, June 18, 2004 - 12:55 pm: Edit

i don't think so

By Hellyea80 (Hellyea80) on Friday, June 18, 2004 - 09:14 pm: Edit

Does anyone know when the REAL SAT II: Biology book by College Board is comming out?

By Viraj1303 (Viraj1303) on Friday, June 18, 2004 - 11:51 pm: Edit

I didn't even know they were making something like that....

By Best_Wr (Best_Wr) on Saturday, June 19, 2004 - 06:26 am: Edit

Hellyea,
real sat ii bio is already out; just go get them at library or bookstore.
Adidasty, what's the point of knowing how many you got wrong if you got 800? real score report won't tell you how many you got wrong

By Viraj1303 (Viraj1303) on Saturday, June 19, 2004 - 03:05 pm: Edit

None of my nearby bookstores or libraries have it, and amazon.com says its not out yet, so I don't know...

By Smartgirl (Smartgirl) on Saturday, June 19, 2004 - 03:10 pm: Edit

How do you get 800? I am studying for AP Biology and SAT II Biology over the summer and I am wondering what resources you used to get the score of 800?

By Hellyea80 (Hellyea80) on Saturday, June 19, 2004 - 08:12 pm: Edit

Best Wr, where do you see it out? Amazon and BN websites say its not out yet.

By Adidasty (Adidasty) on Saturday, June 19, 2004 - 11:16 pm: Edit

I got an 800 by reading over the molecular sections of my AP Biology textbook- Biology 8/e. It's really good!

By Xgamerx13 (Xgamerx13) on Sunday, June 20, 2004 - 12:27 am: Edit

I have a question about the curve and I guess percentile too: Is it applied to all the people taking the test that day, or over the years? Because I am jewish and keep the sabbath so I took it on a sunday, so the avg score is probably higher among the people who took it on sunday, resulting in a smaller curve, and the test is different from the saturday test. I got a 660 and will retake.

By Best_Wr (Best_Wr) on Sunday, June 20, 2004 - 01:26 am: Edit

Hellyea,
Go to amazon, select books, and type in "Real SAT II" which contain s one SAT II Biology test (E/M).

By Unluckycharms (Unluckycharms) on Sunday, June 20, 2004 - 02:10 am: Edit

"Because I am jewish and keep the sabbath so I took it on a sunday, so the avg score is probably higher among the people who took it on sunday"

I don't get the connection.

By Xgamerx13 (Xgamerx13) on Sunday, June 20, 2004 - 03:05 am: Edit

Statistically, Jewish people as a group score higher, so the curve would be smaller and your percentile lower. The sabbath is on a saturday so people who cant take it that day get special permission and take a different test on the sunday afterwards.

By Best_Wr (Best_Wr) on Sunday, June 20, 2004 - 05:20 am: Edit

Xgamerx,
how many you think you've got wrong? Although all these people who got 800 said the curve was phenomenal, they got less than 5 wrong (which follows real sat ii curve). curve isn't that much different.

By Rippledance (Rippledance) on Sunday, June 20, 2004 - 06:50 am: Edit

*grins* 800 Molecular - I personally prefer molecular bio to ecology.

By Hellyea80 (Hellyea80) on Sunday, June 20, 2004 - 07:01 pm: Edit

i have the Real SAT II: subject test already, I was talking about the Real SAT II: Bioglogy review book.

By Marymary (Marymary) on Sunday, June 20, 2004 - 07:32 pm: Edit

yay! 800 Molecular!

I didn't study for this at all but I did just just complete a whole year of AP Bio and my teacher was really awesome! Now to just wait for those AP scores...

By Wunderkind__Not (Wunderkind__Not) on Sunday, June 20, 2004 - 07:55 pm: Edit

Hey

as a junior I will be taking the Biology E/M Test, probably molecular, and I need to know which books are best. Any suggestions? Please Tell me the book(s) used and the score you got.

Thanks

By Crazykidd (Crazykidd) on Sunday, June 20, 2004 - 08:00 pm: Edit

barrons => 800 Molecular Biology

By Viraj1303 (Viraj1303) on Monday, June 21, 2004 - 11:35 am: Edit

I used almost every book and did all of their tests. I only read from Barron's and and Princeton Review. I HATED Barron's. Sorry, but it didn't help me atall. Also, I read a bit of Kaplan's and then I stopped, because they give you WAY too much detail...On the other hand, Princeton Review tells you exactly waht you need to know, no more, no less. I recommend Princeton Review. Oh, and I got an 800 in M. Good luck!

By Seahorsekid (Seahorsekid) on Monday, June 21, 2004 - 01:43 pm: Edit

760 molecular... was hoping for better but still pleased... it's in the 92nd percentile

By Tenbelow (Tenbelow) on Monday, June 21, 2004 - 09:48 pm: Edit

Molecular Biology: 800

I took AP Biology and specialized in biology in Science Olympiad, so I've had a lot of experience with the content. If you're looking to study for both, as some of you have mentioned, I strongly urge you to purchase the CliffsAP Biology book. It has excellent coverage of the content, clear and easy to understand language, and a wonderful section about all the labs! It helped me review throughout the school year and was invaluable when I was writing up labs.

By Pianoman (Pianoman) on Wednesday, June 23, 2004 - 09:57 am: Edit

790 on molecular, craving those extra ten points though.

By Adnan88 (Adnan88) on Wednesday, June 23, 2004 - 10:18 am: Edit

I got a 740 on molecular. My score stinks when compared with the rest of you guys on the forum. I definately should have studied more. This is my first real SAT test ever. Will a 740 hurt my chances at an Ivy League?
