just wondering how much of a hook this program is. any input (i know i've posted this three times, but i haven't gotten many answers yet)?

In North Carolina, you'll find it to be arguably the most well-known precollege program in the state; I would hesitate to say that it garners more prestige than Duke's TIP programs in NC and the states immediately surrounding, and certainly more than Summer Ventures. Unlike Duke's programs, it's free. 
States with derivative programs like Pennsylvania and, I believe, New Jersey have fairly well-acclaimed Governor's School programs as well. I can't say just how big a hook they are, but people on this board who have participated have thoroughly enjoyed them.
