k, for some reason i think i might have screwed up on the answer sheet of bio M, it's possible i might have shifted all my answers up one or down one..it's also possible i didn't

if that did happen, would they still score it and give me like a 200? how do they handle these situations since we cannot verify that we indeed made a horrible mistake

and since colleges see all ur SAT 2 scores whether u like it or not, do u think cancelling would be the best idea, i can't sleep easy with this in my mind

By Altf4 (Altf4) on Saturday, June 05, 2004 - 11:42 pm: Edit

i'm not gonna be able to sleep, even though summer has started

my school ended two weeks ago

By Altf4 (Altf4) on Saturday, June 05, 2004 - 11:47 pm: Edit

has anyone had that happen before

on the personal statement, can i explain to them what happened that made me get such a low score (pulling a frameshift mutation on my answer sheet)

you need to relax

By Hahaha (Hahaha) on Sunday, June 06, 2004 - 01:42 am: Edit

umm cant u ask them to hand score your answer sheet?
And I agree w/ Sydney, take a deep breath dawg

By Tlaktan (Tlaktan) on Sunday, June 06, 2004 - 01:45 am: Edit

When you get your scores, you can request them to be handscored and make a note to the college board that .. well, whatever the error was..

Let's hope though that you don't have to resort to that.

By The_Wanderer (The_Wanderer) on Sunday, June 06, 2004 - 01:46 am: Edit

yeah don't really sweat it too much, if you cancel Bio, it's alright too, just take AP Bio later and ace the SAT II with an 800. However, if you don't wanna, how do you know you shifted down a bit or not? I would call collegeboard and see if they could hand grade it like the guy said, I dunno if that's possible but at least you might get some advice out of it.

By Altf4 (Altf4) on Sunday, June 06, 2004 - 10:38 am: Edit

if they hand scored it, would they shift it back up and then grade it?

costs like 25 dollars though for them to handscore it

i just don't want a big 300 or 200 when i actually did better, know what i mean?

HELO

By Haykm11 (Haykm11) on Sunday, June 06, 2004 - 01:14 pm: Edit

Call The college board Monday morning and ask them...

By Tlaktan (Tlaktan) on Sunday, June 06, 2004 - 01:24 pm: Edit

If they handgrade it, and found that the machine made an error, you automatically get your money back.

By Altf4 (Altf4) on Sunday, June 06, 2004 - 01:27 pm: Edit

what if I made the error where i did misalign the answers

i heard that the machine is intelligent enough to pick up these misalignments and score it correctly, shifting the answers to the proper spot? is that true?

By Bullrider7788 (Bullrider7788) on Sunday, June 06, 2004 - 01:37 pm: Edit

Alt, no, that is not true. And the College Board will not "shift" your answers up or down one when handscoring it, because there's no way of proving to them that those aren't your genuine answers. Sorry. If you're going to take AP Bio in the future, then cancel. Otherwise, it's a much harder decision.

By Altf4 (Altf4) on Sunday, June 06, 2004 - 01:48 pm: Edit

darn, and i don't really know for sure whether i did make that mistake or not.
i only got to recheck about 15-20 questions before time was called.
however, i do remember ending up on the right spot though

By Sydney22 (Sydney22) on Sunday, June 06, 2004 - 02:08 pm: Edit

i think you are assuming the worst, im sure you didnt mess if up, and you should stop worrying so much about it.

By The_Wanderer (The_Wanderer) on Sunday, June 06, 2004 - 02:20 pm: Edit

how do you come up with the suspicion that you did align them?
They ended up at the same place right?
You started at the first blank right?
I think I might have messed up on the test too, I'm worried I accidentally filled in something I wanna skip and all the things after that is messed up.
But I dunno if that really happened, it might be just plain paranoia. lol.

By Altf4 (Altf4) on Sunday, June 06, 2004 - 02:31 pm: Edit

i dunno, i worry about everything, it's unhealthy

By Haithman (Haithman) on Sunday, June 06, 2004 - 02:34 pm: Edit

You can always retake, relax! Im retaking in October..well the SAT I

By Altf4 (Altf4) on Sunday, June 06, 2004 - 03:38 pm: Edit

i know that i can retake, problem is i have to send all scores to colleges, so i'll probably have to explain IF this actually occurred

TCB took out the "score choice" policy and so i'm stuck with whatever i have

i'm gonna wish for the best then

By Altf4 (Altf4) on Monday, June 07, 2004 - 12:06 pm: Edit

ugh, this is still a plague on my life

By Jaylee933 (Jaylee933) on Monday, June 07, 2004 - 02:20 pm: Edit

That happened to a kid at my school taking AP Psych exam. The college board wouldn't do anything about it so he had to cancel his score. If I were you, I'd cancel it and take the test later. No point in stressing over something for months. Good luck
