I always get confused about this. If you don't have a chart of whats a stronger reducing agent, and they dont tell u which side is oxidation and which is reduction, how do you tell which is the anode and/or cathode? Like.. unless u memorize, how do u know if in the zinc copper redox equation, its the zinc or the copper thats being reduced?

activity series of metals, zinc will replace copper in solution without any electricity.

Ya.. but u dont have a chart of the activity series of metals... (and yea i was asking about galvanic cells).
