Which matter more, AP or SAT II scores? (in the context of selective college admissions) Thanks!

SAT II. I believe AP's are just used for placement.

think about this one...the one that only a fraction of the applicants take or the one that all applicants MUST take?

Of course the SAT 2 is WAY more important than the APs. Even though some of you might think AP is more to depth, there are certain students who doesn't want the college credit and might just do bad or not do the AP exam on purpose. Again, as Curtisny said, the MUST is more important than the OPTIONAL. However, a strong AP performance could be used to help a not so outstanding SAT 2 score.

Not every college requires the SATII though, and you don't get college credit for it?

No you dont, but we are not talking about earning credit. We are talking about which is more significant to the admissions office. Even though some less selective school do not require sat 2, it could only help if you did well in them.
