i am kind of weak at advanced math but great at sat1 math/simple math so i decided not to kill myself over it and just took the m1c test.

scored very well. will this hurt my chances? not going into engineering or anything.

If you feel that you are going to score poorly on the sat2c then it is not worth doing (better to not have any score at all). The 2c, however, can be prepped for and is not that much more difficult... The scaling is very good. You can try to look over the Kaplan 1c/2c book. See if you can answer the questions in it. If you do well, go for it, otherwise, it shouldn't matter (especially because you are not going into engineering).
