is it wise to self study AP Biology over the summer, or should I self-study something else?

just memorize the cliff notes guide. you wont get anything from the labs in class and unless your school has a great AP bio teacher, self studying would be fine.

I agree. Just buy cliffs and memorize that, if you need help just look around online.

I barely learned anything in my AP course, and when it came down to it -- the weekend before the big test just studying Cliffs helped me like none other.

Werd. Memorize the complete CliffNotes book and research the labs done in the AP Biology class online. You should have no problem.

impathticiknow(hey andrew!),
i agree. i self-studied on my own during the summer, and i got an 800 on SATII, and pretty sure about a 4(with a margin of error of 1)on the ap exam.

But isn't there a lot of stuff to memorize?

I really love AP Bio, but sadly I couldn't fit it in my schedule. How many hours a day did you devote to studying? Will it be easier than studying for AP STAT?

Here's my advice. If you are looking to just pass the test, then self-study it, but seriously, to get a real grip of the vast science of biology as a whole, you've got to take a class and completely indulge yourself in the topics. There's no way you will learn so much about biology by trying to do it yourself because it covers SO much and can get intricately complex.
