We have a club? Coolness.

No clue where I'm applying yet though. Ill see if I can come up with something tomorrow...

By Ubercollegeman (Ubercollegeman) on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 - 12:51 am: Edit

I'm basically applying to the standard fare for your typical Asian nerd. Definitely some kind of science major, but I haven't given it a ton of thought. Possibly business, but I'll only take that if I get into Wharton and get rejected from all HYPMS, and the odds that all six of those things happen together is not extremely high.

Berkeley's my match too (and I'm pretty much expecting in since I'm in-state and qualified).

By Feuler (Feuler) on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 - 02:08 am: Edit

Woohoo, I'm in a club!

Check my info for stats, if you wish.

Reaches: Caltech, MIT, Harvard, Stanford
Slightly easier reaches: Harvery Mudd, U. Chicago
Rock-bottom safety: U. Washington Honors

I should probably come up with some more safeties...

By Justice (Justice) on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 - 09:30 pm: Edit

Are those APs projected or did you already get those scores? Cuz 7 APs by sophmore year is incredible.

By Ticklemepink (Ticklemepink) on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 - 09:35 pm: Edit

Just curious you all smarty pants. Why do you all assume HYPSM as places where you'll apply? Why are you applying to these places, only because your SAT scores allows you to? These schools are pretty darn different from each other... I'll give you a benefit of doubt since you're all still juniors... I'm sorry but it just seemed so automatic to put down HYPSM when you have those kind of stats...

By Justice (Justice) on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 - 09:53 pm: Edit

They're not that different. I mean they have such similar student bodies and faculty, except for MIT to which I'm not applying. How are they different besides the obvious physical appearances?

By Kevinkleinz (Kevinkleinz) on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 - 09:55 pm: Edit

I've visited all the ivies and most of the small ivies and have concluded one thing: they are all exactly the same. :)

By Just_Forget_Me (Just_Forget_Me) on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 - 10:30 pm: Edit

Reaches: Harvard (EA, as of now), Yale, Stanford, Amherst, ?Columbia?
Matches: UVA (do I have a chance at a Jefferson, as an at-large candidate?), Duke (or maybe UNC), Cornell (legacy)
Safety: OSU honors program

I'm sure a few schools will be added to the list, and maybe a few will drop off.

I have a 1600, and 2 800s (writing in June). 4.7, but my school has nutso grade inflation. I think I'm #1 in the class, but we don't rank... so I'm "top 20%."

Going to kill myself with ECs next year, football, SC prez, newspaper co-editor.

Wow, are you God?

Please then, answer my prayers.

By Burllinz (Burllinz) on Thursday, May 13, 2004 - 06:34 am: Edit

Still waiting for APs and SAT II's...
I want to apply to Yale, Harvard, Dartmouth,Tufts, Brown, and possibly Amherst

By Mikealbert (Mikealbert) on Thursday, May 13, 2004 - 06:50 am: Edit

Can you go to a top notch college with incredible SATs, incredible SAT2s and other standardized tests but a low GPA, rank, HS transcript?

By Danoeire (Danoeire) on Thursday, May 13, 2004 - 12:56 pm: Edit

Haha, no, I'm not God. Tha AP classes at my school are just extremely comprehensive and we have excellent teachers. Also, with the AP review that we did, I was able to score so well on those SAT IIs. Oh, and by the way, I'm a junior, not a sophomore. Sorry for the mixup!

By Oovelknoovel (Oovelknoovel) on Thursday, May 13, 2004 - 04:09 pm: Edit

1600 sat i, 800 math iic, 780 writing, 800 physics, 780 bio m, 800 history
ap stat 5, physics b 5; waiting on this year's comp sci ab, calc bc, us history, bio, physics c, human geo, and econs...
dunno where i'll apply yet though (maybe mit/princeton?)

By Teshi (Teshi) on Friday, May 14, 2004 - 12:16 am: Edit

i think what they meant was, since you didn't get your AP scores for this year yet, you must ahve taken all of those coursesduring freshmen and sophmore years.

By Justice (Justice) on Friday, May 14, 2004 - 12:39 am: Edit

Oovelknoovel which AP are you doing late testing? Geo or calc?

By Danoeire (Danoeire) on Friday, May 14, 2004 - 12:41 am: Edit

Oh, I see. Well yes, I did take all of those last year, with the exception of French and Spanish. However, seeing as I got 800s on those SAT IIs, and that I was raised speaking Spanish and French (my Dad is from France and my Mom is from Argentina), I am predicting that they will be 5s.

By Needhelp06 (Needhelp06) on Friday, May 14, 2004 - 07:06 pm: Edit

1590/800/havent taken other SATII's yet.

Probably 5's on AP Chem and AP Calc BC.
