Hey guys,

anyone taking the test. it seems to be relatively easy. i've been scoring 5's on all the practice tests but im a bit worried about the long essay. my teacher said that the first one will either be on Narrative ART or something with the Human Body in art.

the other one is just some random question.

anyone have anything to offer up on these long essays (preparation n stuff) ??

thanks

Yeah, I'm taking it too! A couple of my choices for narrative were: Stele of Hammurbi, Harvester Vase, Life of John the Baptist and Tribute Momey. For human body: Kourous and Henry VIII

The question you are talking about is mad easy. The other one may be a bitch though, as it will be a surprise.

I plan on taking a nap during that test :)

Oh, and Kouros wont work because they want a SPECIFIC example

my choices are
narrative
western - Edmonia Lewis "Hagar"
eastern - Nizami Khamseh "Ascension of Muhammad"
human body
western - Ugolino and his children "Carpeaux"
eastern - Avalokiteshvara "golden monestary, patan, nepal"

does frida kahlo count for western or nonwestern

By Meowmeow (Meowmeow) on Tuesday, May 11, 2004 - 09:49 pm: Edit

kahlo is western. Western Europe and U.S. is ALWAYS western.

Your best bet for nonwestern is asian art, indian art, or egyptian art.

ughhh i hate this nonwestern crap lol

anyways my narrative possibilities are:

death of marat
christ handing the keys to st. peter
ecstacy of st. therese
return of the prodigal son

and stele of naram-sin hahah cause thats all i know?

Palette of Narmer, guys. Its a non western piece of art and can be used for alot of essay questions.
