How the heII could that happen. Im good at english, write well and read a ton, but i just CANNOT do 60MCQs in 40 minute (i got a 11/12 on the essay).
Will adcoms weigh the verbal sat more? or will they think it was a fluke, ESPECIALLY cause i got a 690 the first time?

The sub-scores are reported to colleges. Your essay sub-score will, upto a great degree, offset your low total score.
I doubt adcoms allow themselves to make assumptions like the one you suggest -- that adcoms will interpret your 780 Verbal score as a "fluke". No, I don’t think so.

The purpose of the Writing test in college's eyes is to see if you can write. So, if your essay score is 11/12, you should be fine. I rather have a 670 Writing with 11/12 essay than a 750 with a 5/6 essay anyday...

or you can prove your writing skills in your college essay... that should offset the score a bit

um, its kinda impossible to get a 5 on essay and get a 750. 5 would mean like 70 (or even less) points added to your 600 (ssuming u get ur mpc's all right). anyway, your proabably not as good a writer as u think if u can't identify grammr mistakes and pick out the best sentence improvements.

Sorry, I didn't do the math, but I think that you got the point anyway.
