hey i was wondering whether i should retake the SAT I or not. I got a 1430 (670V, 760M) on it, but i still need to take the SAT II 2c and writing test. I'm a junior, so I'm kinda running out of time rite now (only june, october, november, and december testing dates left before college apps are due). i heard that colleges regard anything 1400-1600 pretty much the same. if i take it again, will a lower math score but a higher verbal score hurt how the college admissions ppl view my application? thanks!

i got a 1430 too. 690 verbal, 740 math. i took it again May 1 to bring up the math to an 800 (i think i only missed 1), and i really don't care if verbal goes down a bit.
Anyways, colleges definitely don't view 1400-1600 the same. Maybe 1520-1600, but there's a lot of difference between a 1400 and a 1500.

i took the sat as a sophomore and got a 1360 and figured i would take them more this year because colleges prob want to see consitency rather than one really good test score

Take it again if you're just a junior. My daughter's score went up 200 points between Oct. 2002 and Oct. 2003 without any prep. Your score is already very good, so you don't have a thing to lose. Chances are that you will be very relaxed and able to improve your score by feeling less stressed and by being more experienced at taking the SAT.
