Do colleges look at your highest overall SAT score or do they look at your highest scores of each section?

i've heard it both ways, but i'm under the impression that they take the highest individual scores

i'm 100% sure that they take the best score of one test, no mixing and matching involved

It depends on the school.

it really depends on the school...for example UCLA takes the best in each section, but USC takes the best from one sitting. contact the schools you're interrested in to ask.

bricktop is wrong...many schools take the highest from each section. others take the highest composite. either way, if you can't find it on their site, call or email the school and ask which method they use.
