What do I do if my parents are unwilling to pay for my college, yet they are quite wealthy ($100,000+). I have been hoping to get into a good college, but will they aid me financially (will they look at my individual case). My SAT's are 1530, good ecs, 4.0 gpa...

You will get a partial academic scholarship pretty much anywhere you go. You might even get a full tuition scholarship. My cousin got a full ride to USC with 1330, 4.0 and lots of ecs. Good luck

Nice parents. Apply for financial aid. You'll more likely get merit-based and not need-based aid, unless you are 18 and can truthfully say your parents can't claim you as a dependent on their taxes. Not sure how you could go about that, but I can't believe your parents are being so selfish. Good luck, dude.

I have the same goal for myself, but my situation is reversed from yours. On the PSATs, I got a 630 V and 550 M. I'm taking the SAT in April, so I'm doing extensive studying on Math. For Verbal, I'm just trying to read everything I can get my hands on instead of memorizing vocab lists. My goal is at least a 1300.

You can emancipate yourself.

Yeah I agree with ... you need to start making threats. If your parents already are wealthy financial aid might not be the easiest thing to get. For example make your parents think your going to a community college because you can't afford a real college, or you can black mail your parents. Just don't let your parents screw up your future.
