By Scoo8b (Scoo8b) on Monday, April 19, 2004 - 06:38 pm: Edit

I'm in Iowa, 90 minutes away from ACT headquarters...

By Springfieldchri (Springfieldchri) on Monday, April 19, 2004 - 07:13 pm: Edit

31, dissapointing except for the fact that I was extremely sick that day and didnt get tot the last reading passage (Which is, ironically, my best section)

Overall I'm happy because I know had I not been sick that day I would have scored much better.

Good experience, all-in-all

I haven't gotten the subscores yet, but I will tomorrow...ughhhhGRRR I honestly don't see how I did that bad...Man Im so angry at myself...

By Athlonmj (Athlonmj) on Thursday, April 22, 2004 - 08:25 pm: Edit

Korey,

Why are you stressing out so much over ACTs as a sophomore? You have a lot of time to improve your score. Take a good long year to work on your weaknesses and take it again middle of junior year, I guarantee your score will be much higher.

By Jewlovvv (Jewlovvv) on Thursday, April 22, 2004 - 11:11 pm: Edit

First attempt, junior.

----------------------------------
English-34
Math-32
Reading-34
Science-30
Composite: 33 -> 99th percentile.
----------------------------------

My SAT scores (only taken them once, 3/27) are 1490 (750v/740m).

Which is higher? Should I retake either? I have like a 3.8 weighted GPA and want to apply to top schools, so I need all the boost I can get...

By Netshark2005 (Netshark2005) on Friday, April 23, 2004 - 08:46 am: Edit

Junior, also first attempt.

English - 34
Math - 34
Reading - 35
Science - 28
Composite - 33!

What prep materials do you recommend for the ACT?

By Stephenpmi (Stephenpmi) on Friday, April 23, 2004 - 03:18 pm: Edit

Trig. Class, lots of speed reading

I used Kaplan's and Princeton Review...I personally prefer Kaplan's book.

By Shannon05 (Shannon05) on Friday, April 23, 2004 - 04:28 pm: Edit

i got a 24..im extrememly happy, but i guess i got a 24 it means im stupid b/c im sick and tired of hearing everyone say how mad they r that they got a 30 and that they r stupid???, but hey maybe people have higher standards than me, mines university of arizona..but maybe ya'll like IVY?

By Mattman (Mattman) on Friday, April 23, 2004 - 06:11 pm: Edit

I got my report today.

29 composite (english 30, math 29, reading 32, science 28)

I didn't finish my math (last time was 30) this time cause a stupid triangle got me stuck, but did better on science (last time was 24) because I was very aggressive with the time (still had under a minute, but actually finished!).

By Kingjames (Kingjames) on Friday, April 23, 2004 - 06:27 pm: Edit

Hey Mattman,

I'm pretty sure that it's impossible to get a (english 30, math 29, reading 32, science 28) and 29 compositive.

Because you scored a 29.75 and the ACT rounds UP meaning that your composite would be a 30.

By Sraj87 (Sraj87) on Friday, April 23, 2004 - 07:16 pm: Edit

33 composite-- 33 english, 35 math, 35 reading, 30 science.

By Mattman (Mattman) on Saturday, April 24, 2004 - 12:57 am: Edit

whoops kingjames, you're right. slight typo there, I meant 28 for the english part, not 30.

On average, how many points can someone raise their score by studying for the ACT?

By Medadu (Medadu) on Sunday, April 25, 2004 - 09:00 pm: Edit

what's the scaling for ACT, like if you get one wrong, is it a lot of points off? I'm still waiting for my score report too :-/

By Ash86 (Ash86) on Thursday, April 29, 2004 - 11:17 pm: Edit

Nobody has a response to my question two posts up? Anyone out there who has taken it once without studying, and then again with it?
