I got my National Merit notice today and of course they will release my PSAT scores to colleges I designate. How will colleges view my change(s) in scores? Will they see my most recent SAT score negatively?
October (PSAT) 67 V 80 M 76 W
December (1st time SAT) 740 V 710 M
January (1st SAT II's) 730 Writing (800 Math IIC)
March (2nd time SAT) 800 V 800 M
Will there be enough good math scores for them to realize that the 710 Math was just a bad day?
Will they see the verbal as going up or just a fluke? (I just got much better at critical reading.)

1600 looks good for any college. Calm down.

f) to get into selective colleges, you gotta go past the score too which leads me to
g) everyone who applies to a selective college like MIT, HYPS, and CalTech obviously has outstanding stats in terms of SAT, GPA, class rank etc.
i) look past the numbers
j) find your passion

yes definitely, staticsoliloquy couldn't have said it better. you shouldn't be worried about your SATs as much as distinguishing yourself b/c in the end, it's YOU as a whole, not just ONE TEST SCORE.
