I just got my SAT scores in the mail today, my breakdown is as follows:
(i didnt omit any)
V-670
Critical reading: 38/40
Analogies: 17/19
Sentence Completion: 12/19
M-800
60/60
obviously my sentence completion is whats keeping me from 1500+, maybe even 1550+, how can I work on this? Is it just a lack of vocab?
I still havent taken the ACTs and was wondering, how this breakdown would look as a ACT composite, would sentence completion kill my ACT score as well?
thanks

Sentence completion is fine.. it does involve knowing quite a bit of vocab, but you do need to look and the answer and think about what words you really need, ie. pro/con, pro/pro.. for example. Then you can eliminate lots of the answers. Often the sat will have a few words that will me totally meaningless in the sentence towards the end but look really difficult so people will pick that choice. you need to be able to identify and eliminate these answers.
were you mostly missing the harder ones or did you trip up on the easy ones?
