Stupid Comments

1. You should do the activities that you are passionate about. Do not do activities just so you can put them on your application.

Ok, so what if you do not have activities that you are passionate about. What if your favorite activity was laying around and whatching television all day. Now yo are also an excelent student with near perfect SAT scores. Does this mean that you should give up your chances at a great school just so that, god forbid, you did not participate in an EC that you were not "passionate" about.

2. Lying or exadurating on your application is stupid because if you get into the college you will not do well anyway.

This logic is highly flawed considering college admisions are not fully based on academics. If a student who does this is academicaly qualified, they will do fine in the university. However, such logic does work for policies like AA, legacy, and athlete recruitment.

*NOTE-I am not recomending that anyone do these things. I am simply pointing out flaws in the logic of the writers.

Why do people here insist on correcting other people's grammar and spelling. I'm not writing essays here. I'm not even trying to write well, so just get over it.

wow, u guys are such idiot that its not funny at all. talk about having no life. why dont u guys become teachers or tutors or something if u like correcting what other people write so much? i mean this "o..uhuh...um...u, uh, have a comma splice after the misspelled 'computer', and u have...and...and..." is quite stupid. people here are not trying to write essays here. i think they-re actually smart enough to realize that they'd rather spend that time editing their history or english essay, which is actually worth something. obviously its u guys, the grammar-fixers, that are not intelligent enough to realize this. anyways, back on topic (before i saw this idiotic grammar-fixing), yes i agree most people who get into the good colleges have at least one or two ECs they do just for college and not because they have a passion for them. Also, about lying on the application, thats just unacceptable, but the exaggeration, believe it or not, most people do it to a certain extent when they write down the number of hours they have done community service, basically they just round it off, upward. colleges dont really mind this, and although u may have heard they're quite strict about this sort of thing, yes they do mind lying, but they tolerate and even expect a certain amount of exaggeration.

Track4life17,

Maybe you're right. I don't know because I couldn't read your post. You were completely incoherent. If drunk monkeys could type, I imagine they would have posted something similar. You have utterly failed to convince anyone of your argument.

However, I perceive that your gist was something along these lines: "Who cares? Shut up and stop correcting other people's grammar." If you feel this way, fine. But, please express yourself with a little more clarity.

logic, I know a lot of scholarly students that just do a bunch of activities. i don't know if they're passionate about it, but our definition of passion could be their satisfaction, if that makes any sense. I don't think they absolutely love it and may say they like it, but subconsciously, the peer and family and college reels must be turning. If you're still young, get your ass into 2 activities in which you think you could add something to them.

For 2, for me, personally, it would be hard to lie on a college application. Do you know anyone who would lie?

Ugh, and fruitcake is a horrible word.
