Hi, I was just wondering if colleges actually factor in the numbers of times you have taken the SATs into your overall application. For example, in the eyes of admissions officers is there any difference between the guy who got a 1600 the first time around and someone who got it say the fourth time? Thanks in advance for any input

Well. With the fourth time around guy, it depends what he got the last time.
Scenario 1:
T1- 1100, Freshman
T2- 1300, Sophomore
T3- 1450, Junior
T4- 1600, Junior, Spring
I think an adcom would totally dig this--a gradual rise in scores.
Scenario 2:
T1- 1450, Sophomore
T2- 1590, Sophomore, Spring
T3- 1590, Junior
T4- 1600, Junior, Spring
THIS KID IS ANAL! That's what an adcom would say!
Scenario 3:
T1- 1100, Sophomore, Oct.
T2- 1150, Sophomore, Jan.
T3- 1120, Sophomore, Mar.
T4- 1600, Sophomore, Jun.
This score was either a FLUKE, or taken after extensive prep. such as PR, Kaplan, etc.
I'd say, ultimately, the scenario 2 guy and the first time around guy would be seen equally.

What about Scenario 5?
T1: 1600 - Freshman

Then good job to that guy...just too bad he can't tell that 4 comes after 3, not 5. ;)

Hm, actually, the closest I've known someone doing that is...
8th grade - 1450
9th grade - 1540
10th grade - 1600
