How likely is it that they make a mistake posting scores? Is it likely that they may have made a mistake in checking the test?

I got a 1480 on the PSAT's and recently got a 1570 on the May 2002 test from 10 Real SAT's.
However, I bombed the SAT's and got a 1340. The thing is, I think i did extremely well (1480-1570-ish). I felt very strong in verbal (790's) and semi strong in math(730). I know i sound pretentious, but i honestly believe 1340 isn't my score.

Also, how do i find the handscoring service.

when you get the score report in the mail, it will tell you how to order hand-scoring

I'm in the same boat also. My math score dropped 100 points from last time, which I don't quite get because there were about 2 problems I didn't know. My verbal ended up going up 40, but my overall score went down 60 POINTS.

It just seems a little skewed to me. I'm very dissapointed because my SAT score the first time was a 1340...NOT what I was expecting. After 3 laborious hours March 27th I only succeeded in getting to 1380. It just kind of sucks. Oh well. Now I just have to wait on those ACT scores.

I don't think I made any filling in errors, except for filling in the wrong bubbles. I'd be ticked if that's what happened, which i think might have. How do they grade these and how do they enter the data onto the website?

maybe u did the scantron wrong?

also, a 1340 isn't bombing!!!!!! that's still a good score! I know ur concern...i know u think it isn't ur best so figure out what you did wrong and retake it...but a 1340 isn't bombing

Nike, I know what u mean. On all of my Real SATs, I got at least 1400+, at the last week of the test, I was getting 1450-1520...then, the test comes, and I got a 1340...I hate this.

But, I am not gonna get it hand-scored, because I know where I screwed up(the verbal after the first math section), so..eh. It's my first time taking it. Know exactly what u're feeling.

Just to let you know, the May 2002 SAT test is significantly easier, and curved really nicely...I compared raw scares and there is like a difference of 100 points for same raw scores.

If your a Junoir or a Sophomore, don't worry about it.

My PSAT was 1360 (650V, 710 M).

In January I was so confident that I got over a 1400. I would've bet a 100 dollars on it.

I ended up with a 1300 (630 V, 670M). I was pissed and that weekend I bought 40 dollars worth of prep books. I was considering hand scoring. Then I realized... even if I got that 1400 I'd still be taking it again.

You still have 1-2 more SAT's to pwn. Don't worry about the first or second one. Make the last one count.
