Would it be a large disadvantage to have taken the SAT's 4-5 times?

If you're not improving with each SAT I believe they can be detrimental. But if you are constantly improving then I say go for it.
But hey what do i know.

I believe that I heard that colleges don't like it when peole take the SAT's more than twice. That is why I am sticking with the first score I got, 1370, and concentrating on other aspects.

At a Yale info session I attended, this question came up and they said that if you take the SAT more than two or three times, you look obsessive and not like the "authentic kids" that they want.
It also hints and hired prep and money to spare, whether or not that's true, and "privilege is out".

Unless you go up a lot overall, don't waste your money.
