OMG OMG OMG OMG 1600!!!

By Sulskman (Sulskman) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 02:17 pm: Edit

670 verbal
640 math

I GUESS MY SCORES WERE NOT CANCELLED

By Haithman (Haithman) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 02:19 pm: Edit

Wow good job Gm, what did you think you were gonna get?

By Andrew123s (Andrew123s) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 02:21 pm: Edit

Sulskman, did you fax them a cancellation request by the Wednesday after the test?

By Modestmouse (Modestmouse) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 02:22 pm: Edit

Congrats Gmf05. You are definitely a better tester than I am! Congrats, man, just, awesome. I think those debate Verbals(ex. fundamental, vital, utter bewilderment, intense pleasure, etc.) killed me. Oh well. W/e... It's over! I AM BURNING MY 10 REALS!

By Slinky333 (Slinky333) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 02:24 pm: Edit

800 M, 740 V, hoping for 1550+ but good enough that I won't take them again.

By Haithman (Haithman) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 02:30 pm: Edit

Wow all the scores Ive seen have been excellent! Great job guys. Now wish me luck in June so I can break 730 Verbal (pleaaaaaseee 1500!)

By Gmf05 (Gmf05) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 02:30 pm: Edit

I thought I might've gotten 1600 when I left the test room. Then I came on here and got rattled by a couple of the up for debate questions. (I did miss a math question - stupid mistake - 8889 - 111 instead of 9888 - 111) I figured I got at least 1500+. But I felt really confident after the test. (Except for my experimental which I thought was crap.)

By Saera (Saera) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 02:30 pm: Edit

760M 720V...Not as good as I was hoping for, but I'm certainly not complaining.

By Hertish (Hertish) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 02:38 pm: Edit

what is 90 percentile?

By Just_Forget_Me (Just_Forget_Me) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 02:41 pm: Edit

1600
:-)
anyone know the curve?

By Modestmouse (Modestmouse) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 02:41 pm: Edit

Well my score was:
800 Math 99nth%
750 Verbal 98th%
Someone with a 90th% should show up in a little bit...

By Parabolic_Line (Parabolic_Line) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 02:46 pm: Edit

780 Math 99th%
720 Verbal 97th%

I really thought I did worse in math and better in verbal.

By Alita (Alita) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 02:54 pm: Edit

670 m 89%
780 v 99%

m is lower that before, v is higher. now I have a 1500 total (last time 720 m and 750 v).

now to debate whether i should retake to improve Math in oct (im a junior)...

By Sulskman (Sulskman) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 02:58 pm: Edit

no andrew.
i meant that they would be cancelled b/c of the scandal. (check other topics for details)

By Cavalier302 (Cavalier302) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 03:01 pm: Edit

I'm kind of in a quagmire with the SAT test right now...on the PSAT I got a 65v 74m, on my first SAT I got a 1390 again, but 710v 680m, and this time guess what I got??!! A freakin' 700v 690m. This is all kind of pissing me off, especially considering the fact that on the 3-4 Kaplan's practice tests on my computer I have scored in the 1500's, with math between 760-780. *sigh*...does anyone have any recommendations for what I should do? I'm gonna buy that 10 real sat's book, but in particular I want to get my math score up into the 760-800 range (I am more of a math oriented person).

By Astrobobocop (Astrobobocop) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 03:10 pm: Edit

ugh, I am soooooooooo mad! I got a stupid 710 on verbal and a 670 on math! why why! stupid 1380 I hate that number! ugh! I was hoping to break 1400! why why why!
oh well, I'm done
just means I'll have to study more for the beginning of may.
later

By Justperfect (Justperfect) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 03:11 pm: Edit

Cav, i think you should try and see what questions you got wrong ie quants, fill ins, or mc, and just practice with those. if it seems to be an assortment from these then i suggest to go over the fundamental principals of geometry and alg.also make sure you read the question every time and cirlce what they ask you for, this tip can give you a certainty of getting the question right if you know how to do it.good scores everyone.

By Chrisjr (Chrisjr) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 03:13 pm: Edit

Does anyone know if CB will send out to you your copy of the test with your mistakes as they did with the PSAT's?

By Mreeves (Mreeves) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 03:17 pm: Edit

AHHHH! I'm SO happy! I just got my scores:

800 M
780 V

Going for a 1600 next time!!!!

By Gmf05 (Gmf05) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 03:21 pm: Edit

Mreeves - Why in the world would you take it again??? There's no difference between 1580 and 1600

By Justperfect (Justperfect) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 03:21 pm: Edit

mreeves, do you know what verbal part kept you from *1600* ?

By Mreeves (Mreeves) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 03:35 pm: Edit

It was the section with the passage about the guy going to the lake. Grr, that was the hardest one! Oh well. =)

By Daromanian (Daromanian) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 03:43 pm: Edit

yay
M:800
V:740
done with this test!

By Kewlkat8 (Kewlkat8) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 03:49 pm: Edit

is there a difference between a 1520 and a 1550 for ivies?

By Philntex (Philntex) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 03:52 pm: Edit

Wow, 100 pts. higher than last time!

V: 730 (up from 690)
M: 640 (up from 580)

I think I'll try again in Oct. (for the 3rd and FINAL time, no matter what) to up the math score even more since I finally know what I'm doing wrong, hehe. Maybe I'll shift gears a bit and switch over to the ACT. Guess it couldn't hurt.

Congrats to everyone! Even if you think you didn't do so hot, you really did. For many of you, the hard work you've put in has paid off, so cheers to you all :)

By Gmf05 (Gmf05) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 03:54 pm: Edit

Kewlkat- As in will a 1550 be the difference in acceptance? No. There's much more to the application. You're definitely within the range they want.

By Kewlkat8 (Kewlkat8) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 03:55 pm: Edit

gmf thanx for the reassurance, and congrats on ur 1600

By Z00b (Z00b) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 03:56 pm: Edit

780 V
690 M

I got 730v 710m last time, so I was a little dissapointed. Will take once more, hoping for 800 v, 750m

By Angelnikki1 (Angelnikki1) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 04:14 pm: Edit

I suck at math...610...that's the lowest score I've ever gotten out of all the 10 REAL SAT practice tests that I've taken so of course I just had to ge it on the actual SAT that counts.

710 Verbal...I'm proud, but my dream school probably won't be...

By Tkdgal (Tkdgal) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 04:17 pm: Edit

Wanted a 1450+.

Got a:

740 verbal
660 math.

Bah. Now I gotta do it again.

By Ilovemath (Ilovemath) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 04:18 pm: Edit

800 M, 780 V... with my scores from October (800 V, 750 M), I am now a member of the fake 1600 club! Woohoo!

By Hertish (Hertish) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 04:20 pm: Edit

680V 700M

WTF?? i thought i got over 1500+

does anyone know how to order handscoring service?

By Humbucker87 (Humbucker87) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 04:25 pm: Edit

1st time (Nov 2003) 770M 630V

March 27 730M 690V

So my high score is now 1460 (im satisfied) not thrilled though

congrats to everyone else though...looks like some really good scores

By Aaronmp3 (Aaronmp3) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 04:52 pm: Edit

I got a 1440 (710 V and 730 M), i got a 1390 (68 V and 71 M) on the PSAT's. How hard will it be to raise my score past a 1500? What is the likelyhood my scores could fall?

By Gameguy56 (Gameguy56) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 05:02 pm: Edit

funny, my SAT

740 V
710 M

was 110 points better than my PSAT 68m, 66v

go me, I'm really happy with a 1450

By Tree (Tree) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 05:02 pm: Edit

My scores:
780 M + 710 V = 1490
Looks like I'll be retaking. -_- Was the math curved by a question? It looks like it was.

By Encomium (Encomium) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 05:04 pm: Edit

1450

700 M
750 V

That's pretty cool. I think I'll work on math for October 2004, maybe i'll improve it by 50 points and break 1500

By Encomium (Encomium) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 05:06 pm: Edit

My PSAT was 1370 (660M, 710 V) so a 1450 is a pretty good improvement, esp. for first timer!

By Tkdgal (Tkdgal) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 05:08 pm: Edit

I went down on my PSAT - from a 1440 (224 index) to a 1400. Does this shatter my shot for national merit finalist?

By Freakish (Freakish) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 05:13 pm: Edit

hey. do you think this looks bad for getting into college. I took the SAT's in december and got a 710 M, 710 V. The march ones I got a 610 M, 800 V.... So overall, 1420 first time, 1410 second time, but a composite of 1510. Do all colleges take highest math and highest verbal? Will it look bad that I went down SOOOOOO far in math?

By Haithman (Haithman) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 05:36 pm: Edit

Yup they do take the highest math and highest verbal. Except for maybe the UC's

By Crypto86 (Crypto86) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 05:41 pm: Edit

1320

730 M (97 percentile)
590 V (76 percentile)...

What happened on verbal man...

By Yujin (Yujin) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 05:46 pm: Edit

I know what it feels like...

By Spright (Spright) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 05:53 pm: Edit

I feel like a dork for posting on both score report threads, but I'm just really happy...
1560 (800V) up from 1390 (720V) in January. And the math curve seems to be nice, since I know I missed thing (one write-in and two multiple choice). Yay for the curve.

Now I have to worry about SAT IIs...ay :)

By Scion (Scion) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 06:01 pm: Edit

damn spright! what did u do to go up that many points!

By Jylee12 (Jylee12) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 06:02 pm: Edit

how do you check?

By Spright (Spright) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 06:05 pm: Edit

double post.

By Spright (Spright) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 06:06 pm: Edit

scion:
I panicked in january when I got hung-up on some vocabulary that I didn't know on the first section...matters didn't improve when I didn't turn the bloody page before I only had 3 minutes left, and 31-35 were essentially guesses.

Then I was so angry that I couldn't concentrate on math, and missed the first two questions on the second section. And made many stupid mistakes.

So yes. Always turn pages.

By Ericng314 (Ericng314) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 06:13 pm: Edit

I Scored lower.. IT's depressing. I really wanted to break the 1400 mark but will never happen. Is it advisable to take it a 4th time? Would Columbia look down on a score drop?

By Kyle8744 (Kyle8744) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 06:15 pm: Edit

740m 800v

still pissed @ math score. i only improved 10 pts over last time.

By Songster87 (Songster87) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 06:18 pm: Edit

So I was shooting for a 270...and I got a 400! I'm happy. =)

By Shortcakefairy (Shortcakefairy) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 06:28 pm: Edit

1370~my first time taking it

670- Math
700- Verbal

definitely taking it again...i want at least above 1400.... i'm not at all shooting for a perfect score here LoL

Good job to everyone else!!! Scores are not worth getitng too depressed over!

By Traci87 (Traci87) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 07:33 pm: Edit

1510
800M-99%
710V-96%

I know I got one math wrong, cuz i was careless. I'm happy because this was my first time, and I had been scoring in the high 1300s and low 1400s everytime until the weekend before 3/27, when i scored 1550. i know that was a major run-on sentence.

By Drangocar (Drangocar) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 07:59 pm: Edit

Hey
When I get on the collegeboard website and click SAT status, it gives me a message saying error loading sat homepage. What does this mean?
Thanks

By Desira (Desira) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 08:07 pm: Edit

Gmf05

Totally off topic, but did you make GHP?

By Eeeeyor (Eeeeyor) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 09:56 pm: Edit

if you missed all the verbal question with hard vocabulary but got everything else, what do you think you could score?/

By Skybaker (Skybaker) on Thursday, April 08, 2004 - 11:03 pm: Edit

how does one find out what percentile they are in? do i click somewhere else after the results page?

By Jdlgoal (Jdlgoal) on Friday, April 09, 2004 - 12:18 am: Edit

m:730
v:780

I got m:800 v:690 in January, I dunno what happend in math this time. I still have a 1580 combined score, but you think the math decrease is going to hurt me?

By Gmf05 (Gmf05) on Saturday, April 10, 2004 - 06:42 pm: Edit

Treschic --- Just saw your post now (sorry for the delay ^_~) No I didn't make GHP. My interview score was great (I decided to go for lit) - top 3 or something. But my essay was a load of crap. I kinda slacked off, thinking I'd pass on my interview score. Oh well, I'm going to Boys State, which would've conflicted anyway. Stupid competitive school district *shakes fist*

By Glory (Glory) on Saturday, April 10, 2004 - 10:12 pm: Edit

By Varr (Varr) on Sunday, April 11, 2004 - 12:26 am: Edit

so how many times did you guys take the SAT to get over 1500??

Im so confused!! Im a sophomore waiting for the NEW SAT!!!
BUT I dont know If I should take it in March (first date available) and retake in MAY AND in October if needed!
Or
Should I take it in May and retake in October???
:( HELP!! pls!!?

Im taking the SAT II MATH IIC in June 2005 so I cant take the NEW SAT that day

By Ilovefood (Ilovefood) on Sunday, April 11, 2004 - 01:11 am: Edit

tkdgal - that score should be fine, just as anything above about a 1350 would be for finalist. they just want to make sure that your high PSAT score wasnt a fluke. just make sure the other areas they want are good enough.

By Bcrichsolo (Bcrichsolo) on Sunday, April 11, 2004 - 05:19 pm: Edit

740 M 97%
640 V 87%

do they show a combination score % thingy. Like if u get 1500 they will tell u what percentile that is?

By Foundnemo (Foundnemo) on Sunday, April 11, 2004 - 05:27 pm: Edit

710 M
750 V

Ok wow, did much worse than I thought ... *sigh*.

By Adidasty (Adidasty) on Sunday, April 11, 2004 - 05:34 pm: Edit

690M

Verbal is bad. I need practice. WTF is up with math???? I was getting 700+ on practice exams!!!!!!!

By Adidasty (Adidasty) on Sunday, April 11, 2004 - 05:44 pm: Edit

where do you find what percentile you are??? what is percentile for 690M???

By Foundnemo (Foundnemo) on Sunday, April 11, 2004 - 06:06 pm: Edit

Is there any way to find out what you got wrong on the test?

By Al4 (Al4) on Sunday, April 11, 2004 - 06:31 pm: Edit

well i took march 27 SAT but i havent received my score yet... went to collegeboard.com and checked my status but still says "registered" is it possible that ETS cancelled my score by mistake? or perhaps supervisor on that day misplaced my answer sheet or something. .should i just wait till monday and call the ETS to find out whats going on? im really upset b/c that was the last chance for me to take the SAT1.

by the way, i registered online

By Gmf05 (Gmf05) on Sunday, April 11, 2004 - 07:05 pm: Edit

Adidasty - 690 M = 92nd percentile

It gives you the percentile when you check your score online, but if you want to check these out, here you are...
