A bulb is made to be used with a 120-V battery. If it is used with an AC circuit instead with a peak voltage of 120 V, it will burn: brighter, dimmer or with the same brightness.
I am thinking dimmer on this one because some current is lost as it alternates. Am I right in this assumption?

Dimmer.
For DC, voltage = 120V.
For AC, peak voltage = 120V, but mean voltage = 120V/1.4142
